 OPERATIVE DENTISTRY AND ENDODONTICS FELLOWSHIP           PROGRAMME

 Clearing an examination in operative dentistry and endodontics requires a combination of comprehensive knowledge, practical skills, and effective exam preparation strategies. Here are some tips to help you succeed:

1. Understand the Exam Format: Familiarize yourself with the format and structure of the examination. Know the types of questions you can expect, whether it's multiple-choice, short-answer, or clinical scenarios.

2. Create a Study Plan: Develop a study plan that covers all the relevant topics within the given time frame. Allocate sufficient time for each subject and ensure a balanced approach to studying.

3. materials provided by your instructors. Focus on understanding the core concepts, theories, and practical applications.

4. Practice with Past Papers: Obtain previous years' question papers and practice answering them under exam-like conditions. This will help you become familiar with the exam style, identify knowledge gaps, and improve your time management skills.

5. Reinforce Practical Skills: Operative dentistry and endodontics require practical skills, so it's important to practice clinical procedures. Set aside time to work on cavity preparations, restorations, and endodontic treatments in a simulated environment.





FORMAT OF EXAMINATION

Intermediate Module examination consists of the following two

components:

l Theory examination:

It consists of:

Paper I 10 SAQs 3 hours

Paper II 100 MCQs 3 hours

II Clinical examination:

To test basic clinical skill, the clinical examination consists of:

TOACS (Task Oriented Assessment of Clinical Skills).

Only those candidates who qualify in the theory will be eligible to take

the TOACS examination.

Clinical examination may be held at the nearest regional centers

depending upon the number of candidates.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT FOR ENTERING FELLOWSHIP

PROGRAM IN OPERATIVE DENTISTRY AND ENDODONTICS

• Passed FCPS-I in Dentistry

DURATION OF TRAINING

• Total duration of the training is 4 years divided into first

two years of Intermediate Module (IMM) and last two years

of advance phase of training (FCPS-II).

All training inclusive of rotations is to be completed one month

before the date of theory examination.

 

Main requirements for IMM exam: The main things which might ease your training period and how you can make it a little systematic. Firstly you are elgible to sit in your IMM exam after two years of your residency start Exam happen twice each year with the months being changed by Cpsp according to their convenience so just roughly keep in your mind that you have to give it exactly after two years.

 Now there are four MAIN requirements you have to fulfill to sit in this exam:

1-Synopsis Submission

2- Attending Workshops

3-Filling up your E-logbook

Try to regularly fill your entries in logbook on weekly basis otherwise you will get in trouble when you apply for exam.

· 150 training quota

· Min 50-60 rotational quota

4-Completion of rotational training

ROTATIONS

The following rotations are mandatory in each department(for 2021 inductees)

• IMM (First Two Years)

• Periodontics 2 Months

• Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery 2 Months

• Post IMM (Last Two Years)

• Prosthodontics (in 3rd Year) 2 Months

 

For previos inductees(before 2021)

Pre imm

· Periodontology

· Prosthodontics

Post imm

· Oral & maxillofacial surgery

 

 All you have to do is to try to complete these main tasks in minimum first and maximum 1.5 years of your training so that you get the maximum end time period near your exam for study because no matter how much you study from start you must need to revise everything before exam.

Mcqs:-   mcqs are mainly from books text try to read books thoroughly you wont get in trouble with mcqs and                    mostly mcqs are repeated from previous imm exams.

Seqs:-   seqs are mostly tables or figures or boxes from books try to learn them by heart most questions are                        repeated from previous imm exams 60 % of paper u can cover through past papers.you must do past                     papers 2 or 3 times

            Revision is must!!!!!!
